Brave new World – well, considerably updated anyway

This article is the first public step in a renewed focus on EPiServer World. We will be more active in the communication with you – the members – and transparent in explaining what we’re doing with World.

Major update of EPiServer World

Today we’ve done a big launch of EPiServer World, which includes a variety of things.

Updated design

Easiest to spot is probably the new look. More modern, distinct – and hopefully – more appealing when using the site. Some of the design changes are more visible than other, but all-in-all we have updated the complete CSS-handling and moved to LESS.

Latest CMS and Find versions

The biggest change however – from a developer’s perspective – is the CMS update. We have upgraded EPiServer World from version 7.1 to the latest version available (7.13). Part of the update has also been to upgrade EPiServer Find from version 7 to 8.

Developer Support

Another, more practical, update concerns the "Register Developer Support Incident" -form, to simplify reporting. We have removed fields, and it’s now possible to add several files when reporting an incident.

Upcoming development projects

There is – of course – more to come. The UI-changes that we now launch, haven’t been done as a design change only. They are the first step in an ongoing development process, which will be visible in several ways in the future.

We have created a “World feature request”, which will replace the old “Help us improve EPiServer World”-thread (hopefully not missed by anyone). This way, you will get a better overview of the requests that have already been posted, and can vote for the ones you find most useful.

We have other improvements on the way as well (such as tweaking Find), but they will be communicated further on.

Stay tuned for more news!
