Episerver Editor view keeps downloading images forever

Vote:

Hi all,

I am running through a strange issue on a production website. When I open the Episerver editor view I notice from the Network panel that the images of the page are downloaded several times. Actually they won't stop to be downloaded and after a while it reaches several MBs of data.

Is there anything I should check to understand why it is happening?

Thank you.

Is the website hosted on DXC?

No, it is hosted on a customer's server, I noticed this strange behavior that might be connected to the issue:

  • With Chrome I get the following error and the page stops loading:

VM1384:1 Uncaught ReferenceError: normal is not defined

    at eval (eval at _1049 (widgets.js:2), <anonymous>:1:1)

    at _1049 (widgets.js:2)

    at _1617 (widgets.js:2)

    at _160f (widgets.js:2)

    at _160b (widgets.js:2)

    at widgets.js:2

 (widgets.js is in ../Shell/9.3.8.0/ClientResources/epi/shell/widgets.js)

  • With Firefox the page loads, but it keeps downloading all the media files (images and icons) again and again forever. So after half an hour I have more than 100MB of files downloaded.

The Episerver version is 9.12 from what I know. If you have any suggestion on what should I check it would be welcome, or if you know who can help me I will contact them.
