ChangedPages or rather LastChangedPages

The ChangedPages control can be used to list changed pages for a given time interval. In a customer project I need to list all changed pages the last 48 hours or at least 15 pages. I.e. if the number of pages changes the last 48 is less than 15 I need to scan further back. Any ideas on how to implement this without having to do a lot of extra FindPageByCritera?
