I haven't but instead decided to integrate another product - InstantForums (http://www.instantasp.co.uk). I have the authentication integrated but the forums are displayed in my page using an IFRAME - not ideal but it works well enough for now. InstantForums comes with full source so it's not hard to change things. It's also very cheap.

I have in one of our solutions integrated with www.aspplayground.net, a very cheap but fully functional forum solution. It comes with a site integration package, which allows you to create and login users from code-behind in your EPiServer solution. Frank :)
