Extend the file manager?

Hi,

Is is possible to extend the file manager in anyway? Like adding a new button to the "button-bar" or adding a new item to the right-click-menu (i know its possible to add new items to the right-click-menu on the page)?

If its not possible, how can I open the file manager from a plugin-page (like a "Url to document"-property)?

I think the best way is to make a page adapter and replace those parts you want to change.
