Property "CurrentClub" in ClubMasterPage,.Master is null in Relate+

Hi all, I am following the post http://world.episerver.com/Blogs/Jeff-Wallace/Dates/2009/12/Getting-EPiServer-FileManager-into-Relate-Clubs--Verbose-Version/ and when I access a club page (any that references ClubMasterPage.master) I get an exception as the "CurrentClub" property is null. Any ideas on how to fix this would be much appreciated.
