Assuming you are running the search service in the same instance as the web site.

Didn't test but found one oldish config file from my demos (CMS 9.0.3, Search 8.0.0):

So do you have the baseUri set in episerver.search?

Problem solved. Ssl issue, we import certificate form old server and everything is ok now.
