Running CMS 6 for development on Windows Server 2003 R2

Does anyone know whether CMS 6 will run on a Windows Server 2003 R2 edition - system requirements documentation only states Windows Server 2003, not R2, and we are having issues running projects on this build.

We are running EpiServer CMS 6 R2 on Windows Server 2003 R2.
