Extending Community for Youtube videos

I'm just starting off with community so apologies if this is an obvious question.

How would I go about extending community to be able to handle Youtube videos?

I'm talking about users adding Youtube URLs and being able to tag them on the site.

Any links to tutorials or other useful resources about extending Community would be greatly appreciated.
