'Composer- Edit On Page' option missing

I am fairly new to episerver, developing a project using Composer 4, Episerver 6 r2 and pagetypebuilder.
I have setup a page type on the site to use composer, however when I add a composer page there is no option to edit the page with composer. I have a composer tab in edit mode but no composer-related options. When I right click on the page from view mode there is no "Composer- Edit On Page" option in the right click menu.
This issue appears in both the Alloytech site and my own site.
